1 - Only companies authorised and regulated by FSA compared.

2 - Please see notes for active trader and account administration fees. This comparison does not take active trader charge into account as for short term positions Financial Spread Betting and CFD are more appropriate and beneficial.

Share Dealing firms (Stockbrokers), like CFD companies, charge a commission for every trade. They usually apply fixed commission per trade, important thing to notice here is that stockbrokers usually have special commissions (lower commissions) for active traders (please refer to notes for active trader commission). We compare share dealing accounts (stockbrokers) taking into account the regular commission charged per trade. Active trader commission is not taken into account as financial spread betting and contracts for difference are more suitable and cheaper options for short term positions. We compare more Share Dealing companies and stockbrokers than anybody else on the internet.

Share investing is a conservative and old way of gaining financial independence and preserving capital. Even though some stockbrokers offer credit facilities it is very rare and not popular amongst private investors. If you are interested in leveraged products then refer to our investment guide to find an alternative to share dealing.

Risk Warning: Share price can go down as well as up and returns on investments are not guaranteed.
